Parents On Campus

 ~ Welcome!

"Too often we underestimate the power of a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around ". ~Dr. Leo Buscaglia, Ph.D.

What Does Being a Parent On Campus Volunteer Involve?

Our Parents On Campus program welcomes volunteers to walk the school grounds during lunch, before school and after school. This is a positive support program not an enforcement program. We are there to encourage and model an appropriate and civil environment, to give students friendly reminders of school rules and to reinforce positive behavior by giving compliments when we "catch them doing something right."

What is the Purpose of Parents On Campus?

Parents On Campus provides parents and community members the opportunity to come together to create a positive daily presence within the halls of the school. This presence provides teachers and administrators with another set of eyes and the students with a valuable link to a community that says "we care". We strive to develop a sense of community in the school that says everyone is safe and cared for by everyone and to instill that we are a part of a larger community that everyone is responsible for keeping safe and healthy.

How to Participate?

Contact Niki Roskelley at [email protected] to coordinate a day and time that works with your schedule. Hours when participation is needed are before school from 7:30-8:00 AM, during lunch from 11:20 AM-12:50 PM and after school from 2:30-3:00 PM. Any time you can give during those hours is graciously accepted! Before your first volunteer day, a completed Washington State Patrol Criminal History background check form will need to be submitted. This is a simple procedure and is standard practice required for any person who volunteers in our schools. Once cleared, you can begin to participate by signing in at the front office. Haller Hawks jackets identifying Parents On Campus participants are kept at the school to be worn while you volunteer, along with an ID badge.
