Math Olympiad
On Saturday, April 28, 50 of Haller's Math Olympiad team members and 20 dedicated parent volunteers traveled to The Evergreen School in Shoreline for the annual Washington State Math Council Math Olympiad competition. The teams solved very difficult math problems for almost four hours.
Several of Haller's teams earned high scores on their exams. The 8th grade team of Braden Dahlgren, Eli Weber, and Mason Shepherd earned medals and "Superior" ratings in BOTH the long and short problems divisions.  Only five of the 32 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade teams that competed in Shoreline earned two medals, so this was an amazing accomplishment!
Two seventh grade teams earned "Excellent" ratings in the short problem division. The team of Emmaly Morris, Alaina Ableman, Paige Shepherd, and Ally Sahnow earned a ribbon in this division as did the team of Trevor Glassman, Nic Cunningham, Kyle Schroeder, and Will Foster.
The sixth grade team of Shelby Jeglum, Ruby Nida, Isaiah Bartholomew, and Kaden Reynolds earned "Excellent" ratings in BOTH the long problem and the short problem divisions. The team of Xavien Tice, Brandon Zimmerman, Dallas Miller, and Carter Raef also earned an "Excellent" rating in the long problem division.
Haller can be proud of the job done by all 50 of its team members. They faced some tough competition at Shoreline and represented Haller well!
